YOUNGSTERS from Pirton Hill Primary School travelled back in time last week as part of a school celebration of Luton’s history.
Each year group focused on a different aspect of local history from the straw plaiting industry to the Hatters to Luton during World War Two to the impact of the airport. The Butely Road school had a number of visitors, including experts from Vauxhall and Luton Town Football Club.
History co-ordinator Jenny Fensome said: “The creative approach to the day captured their imagination, produced a range of high quality work and enabled the whole school to work collaboratively to learn about our local history.”
