LUTON senior citizen Albert McKay was “surprised and delighted” when a framed certificate from Parkinson’s UK arrived at his Bert Collins Court home in Farley Hill.
It thanked the former Vauxhall cleaner for his “very kind collections over the year.”
Bert, 68, was diagnosed with the condition eight years ago.
Since then he has been a tireless fundraiser for the charity, even though he finds walking difficult.
“I get blue collection containers at the monthly meetings in High Town,” he said. “I go round the area two or three times a week asking people if they’d like to donate.”
