BOOKWORMS are invited to try something new for World Book Night on April 23 at Wigmore Library.
Visitors to the library can pick up a free special edition World Book Night book title, including The Player of Games by Iain M Banks, Small Island by Andrea Levy, How I Live Now by Meg Rosoff and I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith.
There are limited copies of each title, so arrive early to avoid disappointment. The event is running from 4 – 7pm.
In addition to receiving a free book, you can try something new at Wigmore Library and take part in the free demonstrations of Luton Libraries’ online resources, from learning a new language, downloading free ebooks, and registering for a free online course in a huge range of subjects, from Arts and Photography to Web development, all for free using your library card.
If you’re not already a library member, it is free and easy to join, just bring in one printed proof of ID.
Plus, there is a chance for you to win one of a set of two family tickets, worth £12 each, to the DinoMites exhibition at Stockwood Discovery Centre.
DinoMites is one of the most exciting exhibitions ever to be held at Stockwood Discovery Centre. It will feature baby and juvenile dinosaur life size models, and shows the life cycles of smaller species from birth to death.
Don’t forget, if you have registered to be a book giver on World Book Night and you’re looking for a public venue to ‘gift’ your 24 books, why not join other book givers and join in the celebrations at Wigmore Library? Please contact Andrew Bond on 01582 547418 or email andrew.bond@lutonculture.com.
