BEFORE Lee Gladstone’s much missed Grandma Doll died of cancer, she gave him the money to buy a Renault Megane.
Now the HGV technician of Clevedon Road in Luton will be driving the car from John O’Groats to Land’s End to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support in her memory.
“She was absolutely salt-of-the-earth,” he said. “Always giving, never putting herself first.
“This is my way of saying thank you.”
Lee, 31, and his friends Adam Bates and Gary Stannett hope to complete the 600 mile journey in one day on May 12.
