A father of six has run 40 marathons in 40 days, from John O’Groats to Land End. Dave Hall, 50 began his journey on August 18, he was followed by his living shack. He took on the challenge to raise money for Home Leone, a charity set up by Nigel Hyde, to help the families living in slums in Sierra Leone. They wanted to raise enough money to build 40 new homes in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Mr Hall raised over £80,000, he said: “It has been such a difficult 40 days and I can not believe we have come to the end. The support I have received across the length and breadth of the country has been truly humbling.” Mr Hyde said: “Dave’s achievement is incredible, he’s pressed on in adversity and shown amazing enthusiasm, even when sleeping in the shack each night and taking a cold bath each day!”
