Road resurfacing in Toddington may have to be postponed again due to continuing bad weather.
Work to repair extensive damage to the High Street was originally due to take place over three weekends, starting on March 23.
But it was put back to April 5 and 6 due to snow and freezing temperatures.
The winter weather, coupled with large numbers of HGVs using the road, has seen the surface severely deteriorate.
Parish council clerk Andrew Whiting said he was hopeful that the resurfacing, from the dental surgery up to Bradford Road, would start this weekend.
“They can’t do it if it’s under five degrees though,” he said. “We’ll get a more definitive idea tomorrow afternoon.”
The current forecast for Saturday is a high of 7C, but not until 4pm.
