A couple were threatened with a kitchen knife in what police have described as an “extremely hideous attack” in Luton last night (April 3).
The incident happened in Piggotts Lane where the pair were walking at about 7.45pm.
The robber, described as a black male in his late 20s, approached the male victim from behind, grabbed his hand and held a knife to his throat.
He threatened him, demanded he hand over money, then took his wallet which contained £55 and ran away.
Det Con Mandy Godfree said: “This was an extremely hideous attack on a man and his wife who had gone out for an evening stroll. Thankfully neither the victim nor his wife were injured during the robbery but this could have been a far more serious incident and we must apprehend the person who committed this offence before he can commit further harm.”
If you were in the area at the time of the robbery or saw the man, call Beds Police on 101 or text information to 07786 200011.
