Appeal for witnesses after New year’s Eve party death

Bedfordshire Police are treating as suspicious the death of a man in Luton that occurred in the early hours of New Year’s Day (Sunday).

Police and ambulance were called to a house in Helmsley Close, in Hockwell Ring, Luton just after 3am. A man had been assaulted while at a New Year’s Eve party. He died a short time later of his injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information to the incident and would like to speak to anyone who was at the party and may have information about what happened. The area is currently cordoned off and detectives from the Beds and Herts Major Crime Unit, led by DCI Melanie Burn, have been called in to investigate.
