A man was airlifted to hospital after a road traffic collision in Marsh Road, Luton this morning (November 6).

Two vehicles were involved in the collision at 8.48am, and the man suffered serious injuries but the female driver of the other vehicle involved was not injured.

The Herts Air Ambulance landed on grassland near to the scene along Marsh Road, and police closed Marsh Road, Bramingham Road and Limbury Road, causing severe delays for motorists.

Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: “A man who we believe to be in his 30s received serious injuries, and following treatment and stabilisation by land and air ambulance crews, he was flown to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridgeshire for further care.”

A Bedfordshire Police spokesperson said investigators were at the scene to establish the cause of the incident.

Both vehicles, a Peugeot and a Toyota Land Cruiser, were recovered by police.
