Mid Beds MP Nadine Dorries is jetting off to Australia to take part in reality TV show, I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
The Conservative MP will be away from her constituency for a month, and her decision has already drawn criticism.
She is the first serving MP to to take part in the programme, which is presented by Ant and Dec.
Deputy Leader of Luton Borough Council Sian Timoney said on Twitter: “I predict that Dorries, when evicted from jungle after showing the nation what a **** she is, will claim editing was unfair.”
The 55 year old will be paid for taking part in the reality TV show, and will still be paid as a member of parliament.
She claimed the show is watched by 16 million people and that she will be able to speak about issues she is interested in on the show.
Former Tory MP Louise Mensch said on Twitter: “Perhaps whilst in the Jungle Nadine could be set the task of finding the plot. #lostforever.”
