A CAR crashed into a front garden in Luton after a police chase along the A6 yesterday afternoon (December 19).
At about 1.45pm, police in Lower Stondon spotted a car that was wanted in connection with multiple thefts of petrol in the area, as well as a burglary in September, and gave chase.
The police helicopter was scrambled, and following a pursuit along the A6 in Luton the car collided with a brick wall in Icknield Road, causing damaged to a resident’s car and destroying a tree.
The resident – who did not want to be named – said: “I was in the kitchen and my husband was in the garden when we both heard a terrific bang. We came outside and saw the car all smashed up into our wall. It was a mess.”
The car is believed to be a stolen vehicle.
