TEENAGERS who have given up their own time to help others were presented with an award by Holby City star Adam Astill.
Afzana Choudhury, Humza Khan and Yasmin Sultana, all aged 17, received the Princess Diana Champion Volunteer Award from the actor, who plays Dan Hamilton in the BBC One drama and is running the Brighton Marathon in aid of the Diana Award charity on April 15.
The trio, all members of Luton’s Centre for Youth and Community Development, took lead roles in running its Crescent Summer School programme and helped to recruit over 250 participants.
They have also raised £300 in aid of the Luton & Dunstable Hospital Cardiac Centre Appeal.
The centre’s youth work co-ordinator Abdul Halim, who nominated the group, said: “These young people are truly exceptional.”
