BANK holidays might have to be renamed after one of the industry’s biggest names announced it is opening branches, including in Luton and Bedford, on Good Friday.
Barclays will be opening from 10am to 2pm on bank holidays apart from Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, as part of a programme to extend opening hours and meet customer demand.
Shona Nash, the branch manager at Barclays in Market Hill, Luton, said: “We are delighted to offer our customers the opportunity to see us at the branch outside the traditional banking times.”
The bank holiday opening hours are part of a national roll-out across 112 branches across the UK.
