A man has been charged with kidnap and burglary after an OAP was forced to drive to cash points in Luton.
The victim, in his 80s, was at home in Lawn Gardens on the morning of Saturday, March 14 when his nightmare ordeal began.
At around 6.40am, a brick was smashed through his window by the intruder who then climbed through the broken window into the pensioner’s home and threatened him.
The OAP was then forced into his own car to drive to nearby cashpoints at Luton Parkway Station and Santander in George Street. They were unable to withdraw any cash.
An arrest was made yesterday (March 19).
Leslie Deroses, 51, of Dunstable Road, Luton was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary, one count of kidnap, and one count of refusing to provide a sample for a drugs test.
He appeared at Luton Magistrates Court this morning on March 20 and has been remanded in custody.
