Want to see one of the wonders of the world and raise money to help vulnerable children? The NSPCC is calling on people in Bedfordshire to join its Great Wall of China Trek 2015 where every step participants take on this nine day exclusive trip will make a difference to young people back in the UK.

This unique experience takes place from 24 October - 01 November 2015; starting in the magical city of Beijing, before embarking on a five day trek along the steep staircases and crumbling watchtowers of The Great Wall of China.

The walk is challenging but members of the walking group will be rewarded with stunning views of mountain ranges, lush woodland and a lasting sense of achievement.

Twenty-seven people from across the UK put their best feet forward in the NSPCC’s inaugural Great Wall of China Trek in 2014 and were blown away by the adventure they all enjoyed. As a result of this second trek, the NSPCC hope to raise £130,000 but they can’t do this without willing participants.

Once the trek is over walkers have the chance to explore the wonders of China’s ancient capital, with the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square; and there is an additional option to travel to a Giant Panda Research Base before returning home to the UK.

There are a restricted number of places available so early registration is advised. By taking part entrants can help the NSPCC protect children every day through its projects and services, including ChildLine the UK’s free, confidential 24 hour helpline and on line service for children and young people in distress or despair.

The trek has its tough moments but last year’s trip had walkers aged from 17 to 72 years’ old taking part, so with the right training is in reach of most people who enjoy a testing walk. The group will be brilliantly supported in both the build up to the trek and on the trek itself by a dedicated and passionate team at the NSPCC.

Registration for the NSPCC Great Wall of China trek is subject to a fee of £325 and then the charity ask walkers to commit to raising a minimum of £2,785 for the NSPCC which includes flights and event costs.

Invest time to help children and young people and create memories that will last a lifetime.
