Pupils at William Austin Infant School were presented with a voucher for a free game of bowling at Go Bowling! Dunstable, after completing an attendance challenge. The challenge was set by characters from Despicable Me, the Go Bowling! mascot Topple and Luton Borough Council’s Education Welfare Service, in a special assembly. The children had to attend school every day in the following half term. In their January attendance award assembly, 137 pupils who had achieved 100 per cent attendance, were awarded a free bowling game voucher.
Jo Johnson, deputy headteacher, said: “We have been working hard to promote the importance of good attendance to ensure children do not miss out on vital learning and all of the exciting events which happen at the school. “Parents have been very supportive and we are confident that they will continue to keep up their children’s good attendance.”
