Luton residents are being encouraged to have their say on how public money is spent to improve their local neighbourhoods.

A series of decision days have been organised over the coming weeks which cover all 19 Luton wards.

The council is organising the events as part of the Your Say, Your Way programme.

The programme ensures residents can help shape the future of their local areas by getting involved in decision making.

A wide range of project proposals have been put forward by community organisations and those with the most votes will be awarded funding in each ward.

Community festivals and fun days, new local opportunities to access physical activities, adult learning opportunities, youth programmes and children’s activities, are some of the ideas that have been proposed.

Councillor Khtija Malik said: “The community decision days give local people a real opportunity to decide how public money is spent to improve their neighbourhood.

“The projects put forward aim to make a real difference to local communities and it is important that as many people as possible come along to have their say.”
