An elderly man had a large sum of cash stolen after thieves robbed him of his cash ard at an ATM.
The 82-year-old was using the card at the ATM machine at HSBC, Marsh Road, Luton at 12,45pm on January 1 when a man approached him from behind, pressed the cancel button and fled with the victim’s cash card.
The offender then used the card in another cash machine to withdraw a large sum of money from the victim’s account. The offender tried another three times to withdraw cash but was unsuccessful as the card had reached its daily withdrawal limit.
Shortly after the card was stolen an unknown woman approached the victim and told him that two men had been watching him at the cash machine.
Police are looking for anyone who saw these men hanging around the HSBC cash machine before 12.45pm on Sunday along with the woman who spoke to the victim.
