Wilko team members recently raised £236 for Great Ormond Street hospital Children’s Charity.

Staff designed and made their own cards, crafts and cakes for customers at an in store craft and cake sale.

Becca Glanville, corporate account executive at Great Ormond street Hospital Children’s Charity, said: “We are very grateful to Wilko in Luton for organising this event, it sounds like a great day was had by all and the money raised will go towards providing world class facilities to match the hospital’s world class care; making a real difference for patients and families from across the UK.”

Store manager, Graeme Bickle, said; “The craft and cake table was a huge success and the whole team is incredibly pleased with the amount of money raised for our regional charity of the year.

“A lot of time and effort went into making the cards and treats, so we’re happy our customers enjoyed them and donated to such a good cause.”

The store is also taking part in the Penny Mile Challenge, staff will attempt to fill the store with a mile’s worth of pennies, they have set a target of 84,840 pennies.
