NHS Luton Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has announced the preferred bidder for the contract for adult and children’s community health services in Luton as Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (HPFT).

The services will include district, community and school nursing and children’s community nursing.

HPFT will be providing knowledge and expertise in the design, delivery and management of effective community physical health services.

The CCG will be working with local stake holders and providers to deliver, develop, manage and integrate services through Luton.

The five year contract is expected to begin on April 1, 2015.

Dr Nina Pearson, GP and Chair of the CCG Board, said: “This is great news for Luton people. We are looking forward to working with the HPFT to develop and enhance existing community services.

“They have extensive knowledge of the diverse needs of our local community, as well as expertise in tailoring care plans in partnership with patients to help them achieve independent lives.”

Tom Cahill, Chief Executive of HPFT, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen as the preferred provider of community health services for Luton.

“We are looking forward to working closely with patients, staff, GPs and local partners to provide the very best services for people living in Luton.”
