Nisa Local donated £400 to Lewsey Community Centre on Friday, October 31, at the children’s Hallowe’en party.

The donation was from the Lewsey Farm store’s Making A Difference Locally fund, a charity that was launched to help independently run local stores add value to their communities.

Richard Fensome, community centre development officer, said: “We are really grateful because we are not run by the council so we rely heavily on donations from local businesses.

“It is very important that the community centre works with local businesses to be able to put on events for the children and the community.”

Scott Jell, Nisa Local store manager, said: “The centre is part of our community and the money helps them put on activities for the youngsters during holidays.”

Mandy Currid took her children to the party, she said: “I think it is amazing community spirit.

“It helps keep the centre going, and allows them to put events on for the children. My children were at the party and they were really impressed by the kind donation, it will teach them in life to give to others.”
