Luton Council are celebrating after they picked up two national awards.
The Revenues, Benefits and Customer Services team won an award for Excellence for Innovation from the Institute of Revenues Rating and Valuation on Wednesday, October 8.

The week before, the council was named Transport Local Authority of the Year at the National Transport Awards.
Luton’s entry, Luton Is Open For Business, highlighted how delivery of a number of transport schemes are continuing to drive regeneration through the borough.
The citation noted how the regeneration of St George’s Square led to a number of other town centre improvements, with the Luton Dunstable Busway, Luton Bus Interchange, Station Square and Luton Airport Parkway station gateway all opening last year.
The delivery of the £24 million Town Centre Transport Scheme, improvements to cycling networks and major works at M1 Junction 10 were also highlighted.

Councillor Sian Timoney said: “We are absolutely delighted as this is probably the pinnacle of UK transport awards.

“Investment in major transport schemes is a cornerstone of Luton’s strategy for attracting new private inward investment and driving the local economic and employment markets.”
