SNOW is set to hit Luton and Dunstable early on Saturday evening with the bitter cold snap set to last until the middle of next week according to a local weather expert.
Weatherman Philip Eden expects two to three inches to settle with six hours of snow expected to fall.
He said: “Snow is due to start early Saturday evening, lasting about six hours and producing two to three inches on the ground. With the ground rock hard after several frosty nights it will certainly settle.
“Temperature may creep a degree or so above freezing on Sunday afternoon, but frost and ice will return Sunday night. Looks like the cold snap may last until the middle of next week at least, and possibly for longer.”
