A WOMAN was robbed at gunpoint as she withdrew money from a cash machine on a Luton estate.
The incident happened on Friday January 20 at around 12.30am as the 40-year-old victim was using the cashpoint in St Dominics Square, Lewsey Farm.
She was approached by a man who appeared to be carrying a handgun and demanded the money she had just withdrawn before telling the woman to flee.
The offender - who is described as black, aged between 15 and 18, around five foot six inches tall and dressed in dark clothing with a scarf covering his face and another wrapped around his right arm - then left the area, heading towards Radnor Road.
Det Con Lou Howard said: “The victim of this robbery has been left very shaken by the incident and it is important that we locate her attacker to stop him from committing any further offences. We are in the process of examining CCTV footage that was taken in the area where the offence took place.
“I would like to speak with anyone who may have been in the St Dominics Square area around the time of the incident and may have noticed the offender. I’m particularly keen to locate and speak with a taxi driver who was in Radnor Road moments after the robbery took place and may have seen the offender who headed in that direction.”
