Guide Dogs is holding a volunteer roadshow in ‘The Mall’ Luton outside Mothercare on Tuesday between 9am-4pm.
Local volunteers will be at the roadshow to talk about their involvement with the charity and the difference that you can make as a Guide Dogs volunteer.
Joanne Landucci from Guide Dogs said: “There are so many ways to volunteer. You can do as little or as much as you like from participating in one off collections to becoming a branch member in the area. Age does not matter; if you are young, it’s great for your CV and if you are from the older generation, it’s a brilliant hobby in which you can meet new people. Volunteering is fun and rewarding – you know you’ll be making a real difference by helping Guide Dogs enable blind and partially sighted people to enjoy the same freedom of movement as everyone else.”
Guide Dogs is almost entirely funded by voluntary donations, and needs support from volunteers to maximise its services for blind and partially-sighted people.
Anyone interested in volunteering or fundraising for Guide Dogs is invited to attend the local roadshow or contact Guide Dogs’ Fundraising on 0845 372 7429 or by emailing Joanne.Landucci@guidedogs.org.uk
