Police visited Brunel Road on Tuesday (April 16) and spoke to locals to appeal for help and information about a local man’s murder.
They also handed out posters and leaflets in and around the area as a reminder to residents that they are still actively investigating the muder.
It has been a week since Luton man Paul Foster was shot in Brunel Road in Lewsy Farm.
Detective Superintendent Jeff Hill from the Major Crime Unit said: “We are committed to bringing the murderer/s of Paul Foster to justice.
“I want people to have the courage to come forward and give us the statement that we need with which to provide the evidence that we need to prosecute the people responsible.
“No-one has yet been charged with Paul’s murder. This inquiry is being investigated by a dedicated team of experienced detectives who will leave no stone unturned, and will act upon all information received.”
A 21 year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in the town has been bailed pending further police inquiries.
A second man from Luton, 24, was also bailed after handing himself in at Luton Police Station last Friday.
Mr Foster was shot as he came out of a friend’s house in Brunel Road on April 9.
Beds Police have confirmed that Delaney Brown, who was murdered in Leagrave last September had indirect family links to father-of-three Mr Foster.
Det Supt Hill said: “This was a brutal killing in a residential part of Luton which has shocked the community.
“We need brave people to come forward and let these criminals know that their activities in the communities of Luton will not be tolerated. I repeat once more – we need evidence.
“I make no bones about it we need people to stand up and be counted. That means speaking with us about what they know and being prepared to make statements where required.”
Police understand that there were a number of people at the address and the vicinity at the time and may have witnessed the incident.
It is also known that Mr Foster was taken to the Luton & Dunstable Hospital and was alive on route.
It is thought that the people who took him there may have received information about what he recalled of the event.
Anyone with information should call the Incident Room on 01707 355 959 or Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
