A woman who was attacked by two yobs in an alleyway yesterday (April 4) is looking for the Good Samaritan who stopped to help her.
The 20-year-old was walking in the alley between Hayhurst Road and Craddock Road at 7.30am when she saw two men ahead of her.
They were drinking and shouting so she gave them a wide berth but they caught up with her, pushed her to the ground, punched and kicked her.
One also threatened to attack her with a bottle he was carrying but luckily a passing man heard her screaming and chased the two assailants away.
The woman was so anxious to get away she ran off herself and reported the incident when she got to work.
Fortunately she was not badly injured, receiving bruising to her legs.
Police officers investigating the assault on the woman are now hoping this kind gentleman will make contact with the police as the woman did not stop to take his details.
The two offenders are described as:
1) mixed race, aged late 30s, 6ft tall, stocky, with cropped hair. He had scratch marks on one of his cheeks that were scabbed over, and was wearing a purple hoody with a white Adidas logo on the back and white strips along the arms, light grey tracksuit bottoms with a lime green Nike tick emblem
on the leg and white trainers.
2) white, 6ft, stocky, Irish accent, ginger receding hair and stubble, black v-neck jumper, blue jeans, black pointed smart shoes. Both were carrying blue carrier bags containing cans.
The incident is being investigated by PC Tom Dobinson, who said: “I’m hoping the kind person who intervened in this incident will see this and contact me – the woman can only describe him as an Asian man. It’s not too far from the industrial estate and there is a gym too so maybe he
was parking up to go to work when he heard her shouting for help.
“She was, however, able to give excellent descriptions of her assailants so someone must know who these two are, or heard and saw them yesterday morning as they were presumably making their way home.”
If you can help, contact PC Dobinson at the Local Policing Team in Luton on the 24 hour non-emergency number 101, or call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111. You do not have to give your name but you can still receive a cash reward for your information.
