A high school had to put teachers out on patrol in last week’s snowy weather after people living nearby complained about anti-social behaviour by students.
Two residents in Sunningdale, near Stopsley High School, contacted the school to complain about students going into their gardens and throwing snowballs at moving cars.
A female resident, who did not want her name published, said: “It’s been going on for a while now but it’s been worse with the snow.
“They have got an inability to walk along the street normally.
“The other day they threw a snowball at my car as I was driving, which with the conditions on the roads at the moment is extremely dangerous.
“They run into people’s gardens, throw stones at houses and play football in the middle of the road.
“Sometimes they congregate outside people’s houses, screaming and shouting. We’ve got a lot of elderly people in this street and it’s just not fair.”
The school told the Luton News that complaints were always taken seriously and action would be taken where appropriate.
Stopsley head Karen Johns said: “Clearly some students were excited by the snow, however, we expect the highest possible standard of behaviour from our pupils at all times, and we have reminded all pupils that we will not tolerate any anti- social behaviour which causes concern for local residents.”
