CHILDREN of all ages are enthralled and entranced by the scary puppets appearing in The Amazing Adventures of Pinocchio at the Stables in Wavendon.
Nine-year-old Luton burns survivor Shamiam Arif was no exception.
The Foxdell Junior pupil wasn’t sure whether to laugh or cry when she met the cast from the award-winning Strangeface Theatre Company. But the talented quartet soon put her, her brother Shakaib and cousins Aadil and Ayesha at ease.
The four VIP youngsters had a whale of a time after the show peeking behind the scenes and putting on the masks that enabled Samuel Davies, Christopher Hawes, Sarah Mardel and Roxanne Palmer to play all 16 characters in the popular fairy tale. It features a little boy whose nose grows every time he tells a lie.
Shamiam, who wears a helmet after suffering devastating injuries in a fire when she was a baby, said: “The best bit was looking at the masks afterwards. But I didn’t want to try one on.”
The show will run until January 7. For tickets call the box office on 01908 280800 or visit www.stables.org
