An 81-year-old woman had her bag snatched at a bus stop in Bishopscote Road in Luton on Tuesday (December 4).
The woman was standing at a bus stop at about 1.20pm when a man grabbed the bag and wrestled it from her shoulder.
The black leather bag contained a burgundy purse, cash, M&S vouchers and a bus pass.
Detective Sergeant Emma James said: ““he victim in this case is frail and very confused about why this sort of thing has happened to her. Someone who commits this type of despicable crime can only be described as a coward. Officers are doing all they can to support the victim but the best thing the public can do is help us catch this man so we can stop him from targeting other vulnerable people.”
The offender is described as a man with a medium build, 5’8” to 5’10” tall, wearing light blue jeans, white training shoes and a light grey woolly beanie hat.
