FIVE robberies took place in Luton on Friday night (November 30).
A 27-year-old man had his mobile phone stolen in Albert Street at 6.30pm after being threatened with a hammer and a knife.
Twenty minutes later a 22-year-old student was hit with a hockey stick by two men in Cutenhoe Road, but managed to escape.
At around 7pm in Harcourt Street, a man was forced to hand over his mobile, a CD player and cash when two men threatened him with a screwdriver.
The victims all described the offenders as two white men in their late teens.
In Strathmore Road, just before 7pm, a 16-year-old had his Blackberry stolen by a gang of white men armed with sticks and knives.
And in Baker Street at 7pm a man was hit with a hockey stick outside his home by a robber who stole his bag, which contained dog biscuits.
