TOWN Hall chiefs say that there is nothing they can do to stop travellers returning to a run- down Luton industrial estate despite workers complaining that it is leading to business suffering.
Workers have complained to the Luton News after a group of travellers have continually returned to set up camp in the road at Power Court (pictured) despite having been moved on several times in the last couple of months.
Staff at more than one company on the estate are at their wits end having to put up with alleged anti-social behaviour, vandalism, and human excrement littering pavements.
One worker, who did not wish to be named, told the Luton News: “It’s been worse this year than any of the last six years.
“Most years we put up with them, they go about their business and we go about ours, but this year has been awful.
“You wouldn’t want to work down here.
“The council say that there’s nothing they can do and I just despair that we’re going to have to put up with this again no doubt soon.”
