TWO of Luton’s most prominent names have announced a unique partnership that will promote entrepreneurship and employment opportunities amongst the town’s young people.

Luton Sixth Form College has teamed up with Luton Town FC in a new exciting initiative that will connect its students with the business community.

The partnership will contribute to the ongoing work by the college to engage local employers as part of the national Career Academy scheme.

The club staged a workshop recently where they enlisted the help of some of the college’s brightest young minds in a bid to help them develop a strategy to attract more supporters to the club.

The Hatters want to recruit more supporters from the local community in Bury Park, and over 100 students from the college participated in an action-packed day creating a £10,000 marketing campaign to get more fans coming through the turnstiles.

The winning team was awarded seats for a Luton Town game of their choice, and the club has announced that several ideas generated by the students are under serious consideration.

David Blakeman, one of the club’s directors, said: “The work that we have undertaken so far is really promising.

“One of the ideas that caught our attention is having our club mascot Happy Harry come down to Bury Park to meet some of the younger members of the community.”
