OLD and young mucked in to clear up litter during a big spring clean at Blows Downs.
The Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire organised the mass tidy-up at the nature reserve, and the day saw families, walkers and nature enthusiasts lending a helping hand.
The chalk grassland reserve is home to rare wild flowers, birds and butterflies.
Ruth Sneath, Bedfordshire Education and Community Officer, said: “It’s wonderful that so many people came out and gave up their Saturday to help clear up. Local people clearly feel this is a special place that needs protecting and looking after.”
