JOBS in Luton, Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard are among 6,000 saved UK-wide with the sale of fashion retail chain Peacocks.
Edinburgh Woollen Mill has acquired 388 stores, as well as the company’s Cardiff headquarters.
But the other 224 UK stores were not sold, resulting in immediate closure and 3,100 job losses.
Chris Laverty of administrators KPMG said: “I would take this opportunity to thank the management team and staff for their continued assistance in very difficult circumstances. Their support has been invaluable in securing the sale.”
