An incredible £1,000 has been raised by Vauxhall employees for the Mary Seacole Housing Association (MSHA).
An Employee Quiz Night and a Casual Friday collection in January helped raise the funds.
Elaine Cruise, Training and Events Manager for the MSHA, was thrilled with the donation: “Never has Mary Seacole received a lump sum cheque written for this much money! We are so happy and sincerely thank Vauxhall Motors, this will make a huge difference to us this year.”
The Association is a locally based charity that seeks to improve the lives of young, homeless people in Luton. They provide quality, supported accommodation to young people, enabling them to develop the skills needed to move from a state of dependence to one of independence.
Vauxhall’s Internal Communications Assistant Pamela Meegan said: ‘The MSHA is a very worthy charity.
“After visiting their hostels in the town centre, it became very clear to us that the charity goes above and beyond to make the lives of these young people better’.
“Not only have Vauxhall employees put their hands in their pockets to reach the fantastic total of £1,000, they have also used their company supported volunteering days to clear out the hostel gardens.”
