The Mall will be carrying out work on two car parks for 12 weeks to improve their carbon footprint on the environment. Both Central and Market multi-storey car parks will be closed to the public from 10pm till 6am from mid-April. There will be a reduction in the number of parking spaces while the work is being carried out.
The overnight closure means the car park lighting can be switched off throughout the night.
Overnight parking will still be available in the Library car park.
Roy Greening, deputy manager at The Mall, said: “The overnight closure of Central and Market car parks are essential for us to help improve The Mall’s impact on the environment.
“Switching off the lights will significantly reduce our electricity expenses, meaning this money can be invested elsewhere to our enhance customers’ experience at The Mall.”
