Police have appealed for information after releasing the description of a man wanted in connection with a serious sexual assault.
A woman was pushed to the ground and sexually assaulted by a man in the early hours of Saturday February 7, as she walked from the Purley Centre towards Wauluds Banks Drive and the Little Berries underpass, Luton.
The attack only stopped when a member of the public intervened, after which the victim ran away from the scene.
For the first time police have described the offender as a black man in his mid 20s to early 30s, of slim build and approximately six foot tall.
He was believed to be wearing a black hooded top, with black trousers, and a 3⁄4 length black jacket.
Detective inspector Pushpa Guild said: “We have a dedicated team of officers fromthe Major Crime Unit investigating this incident and they have been following up several of lines of enquiries over the past week.
“We have also had officers carrying out additional patrols in the area, in particular on Saturday evening.”
