Luton and Dunstable hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) received £1390 from a fundraiser held in the memory of Leigha Edwards, who passed away in December 2013. Her friends organised the event to celebrate her life and raise money for a cause that she was passionate about.
Linda Sarrington, her daughter Destini and Leigha’s mum Paula Embleton, presented the money raised to the NICU nurses.
Linda said: “We had an excellent turn out on the day, we want to say thank you to everybody that came and supported the cause.
“The nurses were very pleased and grateful for the donation.
“They do such a wonderful job in the unit, it is nice to know that the money raised in Leigha’s memory is going towards something she was passionate about and will be used to help the premature babies.”
