Central Beds Council has maintained that it will listen to the concerns of Luton councillors when making a final decision on a plan for 3,200 homes near Sundon.
Last week the News revealed that Luton Borough Council will issue its doubts over existing proposals, as it feels plans do not provide a sufficient road infrastructure.
Currently a link road between the M1 and A6 is planned, though LBC is calling for the route to be extended further east to the A505.
The absence of this would “undermine the ability to address congestion across Luton for years to come”, according to LBCofficer Kevin Owen.
CBC has said it will listen to Luton’s reservations.
A spokesperson said: “We have met with Luton Council on a number of occasions to discuss the North of Luton Draft Framework Plan and refine the proposals. All responses, including Luton’s, will now be considered and the Framework Plan amended where appropriate.”
