Walking to keep fit

Members of the public are being encouraged to take part in a series of organised walks to keep fit.

There are a number of walks on offer for people to get involved with, you can take part in organised walks at Wardown, Lewsey, Wigmore Valley and Stockwood park.

Other options include buggy pushing walks, club walks or Nordic walking.

Fourteen Luton residents from Runnymede and Hanover Court joined a historic walk through Wardown park, the lead walker highlighted the parks historic features.

Luton Borough Council leader Councillor Hazel Simmons and Councillor Aslam Khan recently joined an organised walk in Lewsey park.

Cllr Khan said: “A walk through the park with like-minded people is a great way to help keep yourself fit and healthy.

“We have received some really positive feedback about this initiative from those taking part.

“There is even a 10 walk challenge for keen enthusiasts. The walks are free and anyone can come along.”
