A second candle-lit vigil will be held outside Luton town hall this weekend for victims of the Peshawar massacre.

It has been organised by members of the Luton branch of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), a political party that espouses democratic values for Pakistan.

The vigil will take place from 4pm to 6pm on Sunday afternoon.

One of the organisers said: “This is to show solidarity with the victims and their families, and to show the extremists that they are not accepted here in Luton.

“We just want to reach out to as many people as possible, it doesn’t matter whether you are Christian or Muslim or whatever, everybody is welcome.”

141 people were killed in the massacre on Tuesday, when Pakistani Taliban members targeted Peshawar’s Army Public School. Most of the dead were children.
