A man was injured on Thursday evening after a shooting in Luton.
The attack took place outside a supermarket in Axe close at around 6.15pm as a shotgun was fired.
The victim – who is in his 20s –suffered minor injuries and is recovering in hospital.
It is thought two people may have been involved in the shooting. The road is currently closed off while police investigate.
Detective Inspector Sean Quinn said: “We believe this to be a targeted attack on this individual and not a random shooting.
“It is only through sheer luck that the victim was not seriously injured and I would urge anyone with information as to who is responsible to call police.
“We have a dedicated team of officers working on the investigation and are treating it very seriously.”
