Hundreds of people attended the Service of Remembrance at the war memorial on Tuesday, November 11.
Reverend Janet Mackenzie conducted the ceremony which saw a two minutes silence observed at 11:00am, the exact moment the guns fell silent at the end of the First World War.
Reverend Mackenzie then led the prayers and recited the Kohima Epitaph.

Pupils from Dallow Primary and Beech Hill Primary also attended the service.
They made their own poppy wreaths and lay them on the war memorial.
Linda Nouch, Dallow Primary headteacher, said: “As a school we have been focussing on the centenary of the outbreak of World War 1 and getting children to understand that Remembrance Day is about remembering all the men and women in the armed forces who died so we can live in peace. Our Year 2 pupils attended the memorial service in the town centre to help make their lessons from last week real.”
