Lewsey Library will be closed for a week from Friday, November 7 for refurbishment and the introduction of self-service.
The improvements are part of an on-going programme of investment in Luton’s libraries, said a spokesman for Luton Culture.
When the library re-opens on Saturday November 15, there will be improved furniture, a new staff counter and two self-service machines.
During the closure, library customers can renew their books at any other Luton library, by phone or online.
The nearest library to Lewsey, for customers wanting to borrow books in the meantime, is Marsh Farm Library.
