A new Tesco Express store in Luton will give £500 to charity at their opening ceremony on Tuesday, October 28.
The Eaton Green Road store will present the cheque to LAMP as part of its commitment to supporting the local area.
Store manager, Gemma Chinnick, and her team will present the cheque to John Archer, CEO of the charity.
She said: “We are delighted to be able to support LAMP, as they do such wonderful work for the local community by helping young homeless people to find accommodation and support them to build the skills they need to move on to independent living.
“We are really pleased that John is coming to launch the new store and join in the celebrations with us.”
The new express store has employed 26 members of staff, the manager wanted all vacancies to be filled by local people to bring a community feel to the store.
Ms Chinnick added: “I was thrilled by the response we received to our recruitment drive.
“There were so many great applicants which made the decision very tough when it came to selecting the successful 26.
Click & Collect and customer parking will also be available. The store will be open seven days a week, from 6am till 11pm.
