Police are looking for witnesses to a serious assault and robbery in the George Street West underpass on Sunday, October 12.
PC Ben Stone, investigating officer, said: “The victim of the attack, a man in his thirties, had been in the Duke of Clarence pub and had left there early on Sunday morning to visit Sam’s Kebab shop. He then went along George Street towards George Street West and went through the underpass.” Two men punched him from behind and kicked him when he fell to the ground, they stole his phone and wallet.
PC Stone added: “I am looking for anyone around between 5am and 5.30am who may have seen the victim on his way through town and seen anybody following him or follow him into the underpass at about ten past five Sunday morning.
“There were two men and they must have left the underpass going towards town or along Victoria Street, so someone in these areas might have seen them.”
