The official launch of the Supporting Primary School Pupils’ fund, that could see 3,500 primary school children benefit from extra support for education, took place at Pirton Hill Primary School on Tursday, September 25.

London Luton Airport Ltd has pledged £190,000 to the fund which aims to provide financial support to pupils from low income families, who need additional help so they can receive the same opportunities as their peers.

The launch took place at Pirton Hill Primary, where 40% of their pupils would be eligible for financial assistance.

Debbie Thompson, headteacher, said: “We were delighted to participate in the launch of the Supporting Primary School Pupils’ Fund, as we have a large number of families who would benefit from this additional financial support.

“It will mean that their children will no longer have to miss out and can have a better quality of life by giving them the chance to experience new activities via our wide ranging after school clubs or to go on residentials and school trips or even being able to enhance their musical talents.”
