A COUNCIL has signed an agreement with the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) to support local companies, to consult them and to listen to their concerns.
Central Bedfordshire Council leader James Jamieson signed a Small Business Engagement Accord with Luton and South Beds FSB chairman, Damian Cummins, and Charles Smith, of the North Beds branch.
Councillor Jamieson said: ”These are tough times but Central Bedfordshire Council is up for the challenge to show that Central Bedfordshire is open for business and that we are keen to engage with local businesses.
“Already this year the council has achieved significant success in realising the economic potential of Central Bedfordshire, including the launching of a new economic development plan and setting up East England’s first TimeBank scheme for businesses.”
The accord also involves a commitment from the council to work with key members of the FSB to promote the value of small firms.
Transport and Broadband have been identified as key issues.
