Luton Borough and Central Bedfordshire councils have arranged for drivers to get their vehicles checked for free.
The first event is from 2pm till 7pm, at Sainsburys, Bramingham Park, Luton, on Tuesday, September 17.
The second event is at Sainsburys, Luton Road, Dunstable, on Wednesday, September 18, from 2pm till 7pm.
The checks will be performed by Autohome, ProTyre/ MIchelDelver and Autoglass.
All vehicles will have their tyres, lights, windscreen wipers and fluids checked.
Road safety officers will be available to offer advice and give out a free drivers pack, containing a high visibility vest, ice scraper, emergency foil blanket and tyre depth gauge. These will be on a first come, first served basis.
Bedfordshire Police will be cracking down on worn tyre and other vehicle defects.
Anyone caught driving un-roadworthy vehicles can face the possibility of receiving three penalty points on their licence.
